OUR FAMILY
The project of
several lifetimes
We are Yoanna, Maria, and Juanma, Maximo Abete’s two daughters and son in law, and the second generation of this family winemaking project.
We grew up among wine demijohns and van deliveries. There was always a smell of wine in the background because shortly after we were born, our dad Maximo and our mother Blanca, opened up a wine shop on the ground floor of the family home in San Martin de Unx.
Our grandad Anselmo was very sad when he realised that his daughter, Blanca, didn’t want to know anything about vines or vineyards. But Maximo’s dream made his way and he recuperated the family vineyards located at the Guerinda Mountains. It wasn’t an easy way.
We shared the excitement of his first wine, “Guerinda Crianza” and with him we learned to respect the land and listen to the vines. We understood that making wines in his unpretentious, sincere way was, and still is, the best way for us to stay true to our origins.

At the time it was an uphill battle.
But Maximo was deeply convinced about the potential of the area’s isolated mountain vineyards.
TRADITIONAL VITICULTURE
We are artisans of the vineyard and wine
We’ve been devoted to the project since 2010 with the same goal as our father’s: keep and recreate the traditional viticulture in the abandoned mountain areas of our hometown. We’ve also worked hard on establishing our own winemaking narrative; leading us to focus on the Grenache variety through organic and sustainable viticultural practices.
We like to experiment, have fun and keep learning, so to that end we make many different wines. We feel every wine has its own authentic story to tell, with a strong sense of place and a simple purity.

We are not perfect, but authentic
